Emptying the basement
Okey doke, this is my first entry.I've taken the afternoon off work, and I'm trying to empty the basement because we're selling the house - eventually. It has been such a painful process over the past few weeks, seeing all the hoarding that I've done over time, all the unfinished projects, the evidence of inability to DEAL.Plus it's just plain complicated - dealing with paint cans almost empty, mostly full; dealing with old VCR players - how to recycle; dealing with old tools, what to keep out, what to store, what to give away. UGH. So I'm already exhausted after half an hour's worth of work. Plus, allergy season isn't helping. But it's my emotional reaction to it all. But I need to push on, and get this DONE. It's been hanging over me for so long. This is all so freakin' connected to my history - how I deal with shame, pain, anger, letting go, all of it. So I've put on positive dance music to prod me along.Affirmations:- I can let go!- So I hoarded in the past - sucks that I have to deal with it now. I'm trying to make a change--I AM MAKING a change. - I. Am. Strong enough. - It's okay that this hurts. The hurt will go away if I feel it and let it go. If you read this, wish me luck!
