Empty Nest

What is this, this feeling?  Its definetly a missing of sorts.

I had to move 8 hours south of my kids. Who are in their 20's. I moved because covid completely made our town intolerable. Plus I lost my business, so we moved to a beach town where the restrictions are none. Since then I visit my kids 3 times a year. But its not the same.

A feeling of just a tug upon my heart strings is always there. I work with it, meditate into it, feel it and send all of my adult kids love.

Its all i can do... I am sort of marooned here now. Hoping to get back north. At the same time.. hmm... are there gems in this story. Maybe i did need to get away from that story of divorced dad hanging out over his kids all the time and work through my own pain.

hmmmm.... there is that.

Hi, welcome to this site. Lots of nice people on here.
Are you thinking of moving back to where you could be closer to your children? I would *think* Covid restrictions are lesser now, no?
I can only imagine that you are missing them, and that could cause an empty feeling and a sadness and even depression.
I am sending you a Friend request.

Yes, I will move back. Right now its not that easy though. I have a girlfriend, we moved here together. She has started a business and its just started snowballing into something. She did say, she would go anytime. I also am not totally going to depend on another persons life to do what i want to do.
I got a job offer back up there , but the job was not really for me. So I will slowly look and decide how to get back up there. My kids are in their 20s, a little busy but i just still want to be around them, near them.
