empty house
I loved the life that was in my new house. The coming home from work to each other, hearing his car coming up the street, the shopping for food for all of us, prepping coffee and lunch for the next day, the kids' toybox full of stuff. the tiny pairs of undies in the wash, a stepstool in the bathroom so kids could reach the sink, snuggling on the couch all together, late night guitar sessions, helping each other shovel, clean and cook....
It's so empty now. It's horrible. Excruciating. I just want it all back.
I tried telling him that I'm not just losing one person, like he is. I love his kids almost as much as I love him, maybe as much. We were all together two nights a week and every weekend. I'm losing three people I love so dearly. I felt more connected to them than my own family. Plus all his friends and family. I know he loves me just as much, but he still has his family up the street, tons of local friends, and the kids to give him love and hugs all through the week. I don't have anyone to hug.
