Emptiness

Today was not such a good day for me. My birthday, and I started thinking of my parents again. I wish things had been different; my life might have been different. It's just that in some ways I wish that I could feel something for them, anything but this emptiness. It will pass, it always does, but while it is here it hurts. It's an indication that something is terribly wrong when a complete stranger will wish you a happy birthday and only one member of your family sends a card. None of the others want anything to do with me now. The stain of a mental illness drives them away. It will pass...I have to will it away.

Happy late birthday wishes. Have you ever thought that it’s not you or your mental issues that keeps others away from you. That it could be and quite possibly true their own issues that keeps them away. Why own other people’s behavior? Isn’t it enough to take care of your own behavior? You would have so much peace if you followed Buddha saying about life. “Do not let the behavior of other’s destroy your inner peace.” “Be happy in the moment, that’s enough. Each moment is all we need, not more.” And this “How people treat you is there karma; how you react is yours.” You can’t control how other people behave but you can control how you do. From this day forward honor yourself mental illness and all and choose to be who you are unapologetically and be happy!! Best Wishes.
