Emotional rollercoaster

I read through the posts by others who have gone on this path before and how their emotions are all over the place.  So in a way I was expecting to have some of the emotional roller coaster symptoms that have plagued those that have trekked this path before me.  What I didn't expect was for those feeling to be so strong and just come out of the blue like they have.  What I didn't expect was the getting jealous of others around me because while I am on a pureed/liquid diet they get stuff they can sink their teeth into.  Yes I can have sugar free Jello and Popsicle but they are just not cutting it and not the same no matter how you try to imagine it.  What is frustrating to try something new because you are getting bored with your current diet only to have the stupid new stomach reject it.  To be constantly burping and farting when you try very hard to act like a lady.  And we are taught that proper ladies don't do that kind of thing especially in public.  But just like you can't control how the new stomach is going to react you just can't seem to control how the gas is going to decide to leave your body.  Taking two bites of something and being full.  It's annoying how there are so many food commercials not only on the television but on the radio and internet as well.  How your head starts playing games with you and telling you that your hungry or that you really want something that even before the surgery you weren't eating.  For crap sake before the surgery I didn't really care for cake, cookies and those kinds of sweets very much.  Ice cream really wasn't high on my list either.  Now all I want is those things and I would kill for a shake but would only get a few sips and be full.  I never thought I would ever say this but I miss vegetables.  I miss having a salad or even a dish I used to make using spaghetti noodles, California blend vegetables and some parmesean cheese.  I'm happy about the weight loss that I have achieved at this point but on those days when the stomach is acting up I really wonder if its worth it.  Like last night when I was dry heaving for some unknown reason all night.  I was thinking what I have gotten myself into.  I know for certain that a support system is really worth it's weight in gold because without it I wouldn't have made it this far before they locked me up in crazy ville.

Yup. Crazyville...we all spend way too much time there. But now that I am five months out, my visits are less frequent. I hope yours become less so too! I don\'t think anyone prepares us for how crazy this can feel, and how it just ambushes you when you think you have thought everything through, nmade wise choices, and done what was right for you. But, if it\'s any consolation, it does get easier. And the farther out you get the less your life is about food and that stupid puch and what it likes and doesn\'t like, and more about just having a good life. So...I hear you.
