Elements of Self-care plan

Safety: In making commitments to myself, are there any precautions I need to keep in mind to keep me safe from undermining, sabotage, or assault from my partner?
My biggest threat of sabotage is from myself. I tend to let myself get sucked back in and wanting to believe that a)things are not that bad, b) somehow it is my fault, or alternately that I don't deserve any better, or c) related to the first that I am just expecting too much out of a relationship. However, that being said, if he does get an inkling that I am trying to get stronger he does do some pretty messed up things in an effort to get me to back down. I need to keep things as quiet as possible and work on myself without giving him an inkling that I am moving on. I am making copies of important documents (marriage license, birth certificates, etc) and putting them in my locked drawer at work. I am consulting with an attorney and with an advocate from crisis intervention to make sure I know my rights, responsibilities, etc. I am starting a small savings account with the money I am going to save since I quit smoking today.
Body: What reasonable, daily commitments can I make for the regular care of my body?
Quitting smoking is the greatest accomplishment I can make. I will also exercise in the morning before work; even twenty minutes on the Kinect is more than I am doing now and will make me feel better and healthier. I am going to start walking with the kids and trying to eat fresher, healthier foods for all of us.
Spirit: What daily commitments can I make that feed my spirit?
Daily prayers, meditation, reading uplifting and strengthening books and blogs, and on Daily Strength with the community.
Financial Well-being: What small goal can I begin to work toward?
Saving the money I save from not smoking plus an additional $25 per month. Budgeting and saving money at the grocery store. A part time job or a home based business in order to make more money. Possibly a yard sale. Talking to a financial planner or attorney about getting my finances in order to pay off debt and get on my feet again.
My supportive routine: What rituals can I include in my day that remind me of the real me?
Reading, journaling, walking with the girls, visiting the beach at every opportunity, watching funny movies with the kids, spending time with friends and family whenever possible.
Connection to others: What networks, friendships, or groups can I reach out to in my desire to create more opportunity for connection outside of my relationship?
Work friends, old friends, facebook, daily strength, my classes, it works members.
What brings me joy: What is it that makes me happy at this time in my life? What things--big dreams or small moments--fill me with happiness?
Passing another class and getting one step closer to my BS. Spending fun time with my kids and my friends and family. Helping someone. Reading. Spending time on the beach. Dancing. Music.
Moving toward my dreams: In what direction would I like my life to go that will let me know I am doing what my heart desires? (Just jot down a few thoughts)
Seeing my debts be paid off and money accumulating in the bank.
Feeling stronger in the face of constant put downs and finding my own joy again.
My values as a parent: What are the things I can commit to that reflect my own parenting values?
Following the steps on my contract--always ensuring that my children are feeling loved and appreciated and honored. Never losing it severely with Alyssa.
