Eight days post-op.

I had the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery on 10/31/2011. It suffices to say that I hate the protein shakes and I really REALLY want food. I think I'm actually getting a little depressed. My roommates eat (of course) and I cook dinner for them (sometimes) because I'm home (I'm a student) and they're not. Well, I mainly cook for one but it's usually enough to three okay sized meals. I pack a lunch for him for the next day because right now he has no money and she does and when she cooks she only cooks for herself.
None of that was really relevant was it? I guess I just wanted to explain the masochism of cooking delicious food I can't eat. It's worse because I am a HELL of a cook and an even better baker. The only thing better than cooking and baking is eating the fruits of my labors. So, it sucks. I also cook for pleasure so not cooking is a little depressing too.
Meh. I can't wait to eat again. I have no intention of stuffing myself or anything like that but to feel the different textures of food in my mouth, the flavors bursting and filling my senses? Yeah, I look forward to it.
