ER is finally here! I feel good about this. Any suggestions from those who have been down this road before? Here's to lots of quality eggs and future baby/ babies!!!
Take it super-easy the rest of the day and even the day after. I was just plain wiped out, and my body really benefited from napping and vegging. How your \"lady parts\" feel will probably be unique to you; I felt like my uterus was on fire after my first ER but was just moderately crampy after my second ER. Don\'t be shy about taking whatever pain meds they advise/prescribe, and apply heat (a rice sock works wonders) and ice to your comfort :) Stay hydrated, and up your salt and protein intake; even if you\'re not in danger of hyperstimulating, you\'ll most likely experience some bloating and discomfort. Be prepared to feel like you\'re giving birth when you have your first poop, and do as much to help with your constipation as possible. (Sorry for the non-IF-friendly metaphor.)
Take what you\'re told about the number of eggs and embryos in stride. You don\'t have any control over any of that, and what happens is what happens. If that makes sense ...
Now that I\'ve made you nervous ... just try to relax and be worry-free. You\'re in good hands with your RE, and all of us on here are rooting for you :)
Hineschica gave great advice! I would say definitely stay hydrated. I hate Gatorade but it was my best friend. If I didnt stay hydrated the pain was a lot worse. Also I wished someone would have warned me about the constipation afterwards. Good luck with your retrieval!
Happy ER day! I wish for you to have a peaceful day with lots and lots of eggies!!
I haven\'t done ER yet, but I read to keep drinking lots of Gateraid/Pedialyte, eat protein and good fats (like avocado) and pineapple to help get your body in implantation shape :)
