Effect of Smoking (Nicotine)
I am starting this topic because while studing about neurotransmitters, I came to know that nicotine upregulates acetyl choline receptors. Please refer to the link provided below:

I want to know what happens to MG patients after smoking. Do they feel relieved from symptoms for some time or it worsens them. I never smoke so dont know. I need comments from members particulry smokers.
To let everyone know that, nicotine up-regulates acetyl choline receptors but prolong use may desensitize them. Comments are welcome.

Good luck with your studies Sudhish. Luckily I gave up smoking the day I got married, 23 years ago, so can\'t help you with it\'s effects on MG. Gez
The sex differences in pharmacologic response and evidently resting reception (in rats, of course) is interesting because so many drug studies have been done just with men, Women are not such steady state beings (men aren\'t either). I have never smoked unless you count the three to avoid being kissed :-) almost 50 years ago. I probably had MG then, but don\'t remember any other effects. b.
