Eddie's Angel Date

Just a note to check in & sat thank you for all the hugs & kind words sent to me on Ed's angelversary from my dear SOTHS here & on Facebook.

This year was low key for me. Typically I invite Ed's friends to stop by but I haven't been feeling well so I just had brunch for the grandchildren & their families. My former daughter in law said she couldn't make it - she had plans since it was Labor Day. Josh, Christina, Ken & I had a quiet morning & they enjoyed showing their kids pics of Eddie as a young Dad & pics of them growing up. My daughter in law showed up later in the day after all & upset Josh & Christina & pitted them against each other on a day that they didn't need her nonsense. I'm pretty much immune to her drama but she upset her kids & disrupted a day that had been pretty peaceful. It was unfortunate, but they are fine now...past it.

I did ok too. Eddie passed on a Friday & this year the Friday of Labor Day weekend was difficult. The weather was the same as the day he passed & as Joanie says, we feel it on a cellular level. Josh, Christina & I all felt it & talked about it & "labeled" the feelings for each other. On his actual angelversary, we were all pretty good.

Love and peace to all...♡

Keeping your serenity... what a great revenge... not to let foolish people destroy you with their drama... I rarely do the proper thing and send hugs etc. on the days... I find it difficult to do the normal things.... I think of various members of the FMO group quite often... and I feel blessed to see you all in my mind's eye... Hugs as we go forward... Elissa

You moved through the day with intention and I'm grateful you could gather. Oh, some zebras never change their stripes and will always do what they will do and the only thing that can ever change is our reaction to it. It feels as you all handled it in the best way possible and understand that even though this was Ed's day she still needed to make it about herself. OY....

Loving care dearest Linda and I'm thinking of you as Ed's birthday approaches next week. Enjoy your traditional spice cake that he loves so and may the precious memories of your dear Ed BE with you.

Thank you for sharing how the day felt for you and your family.

With love and a tight heart (((hug))) too,
XO Joanie

Dear Linda, I know how difficult this time of year must be with the double whammy that you have so closely together. I will hold you and Ed in my heart this week and say a prayer or two as well that things will be peaceful for you. Oh the heartache you must feel for the drama that occurred! I am so sorry you had that additional burden, as did they. Sending lots of love, Leda

Hi Linda! I am so glad you made it through another Angelversary is peace. So sorry about your ex DIL. Some family members are more trouble than they are worth. I guess they are so miserable themselves that they want to make others miserable too.
I can handle the drama okay but I hate it when it hurts the ones I love.
Love and tight hugs to you and Ed
