Eddie's Angel date

As you my dear sisters & friends here at FMO & DS know tomorrow is Eddie's 1st Angel date. I wanted to share some things I feel Eddie has taught me over the past year & also some gifts he has given me.
Some of the things Eddie taught me are:
That I can survive the worst trauma a mother can experience. That I can grieve him with grace, ( some of the time) and that I can forgive myself for the other times.
That there are friends & then again there are FRIENDS.
That caring about another person's loss is healing to oneself.
That there are not enough tissues in the world, but that tears are a great release.
That I can still love & honor God.
How much my grandchildren need me.
How much I can love people who've experienced what I've experienced without ever meeting them. That the love is deep & extends to loving their children.
That some people will re-enter their own pain & share just because they want to help me.
Some of the gifts he's given me are:
A closer walk with God.
The ability to still hear his voice in my mind.
My grandchildren.
A closer relationship with my former daughter in law.
A new purpose - to help others heal.
A realization that in the final analysis all that matters is that I have shown others love.
The church I attend now - I was lead there.
My counselor - I was lead to her.
A new appreciation for the man I've been with for 19 years - he has stepped up and most importantly loved & loves my son.
Friendships that matter.
Signs: a rainbow, written messages, numbers on license plates, cards, text messages & letters I found after, and our final words to each other, "love you".
I have more, but I am going to end now with a heartfelt belief that God & my son lead me here to DS & FMO. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for all of you who continue to lift me up as you are in your own journey of grief. You helped me to survive the worst....I thank you & I love you...
Dear Eddie, I will love you forever. Thank you for being my son and a blessing me all the days of your life and beyond. I love you and I know you are in the arms of Jesus.
