eating with gestational diabetes
So...I guess it is good we caught my gd at 14 weeks.... but man, does eating on this diet SUCK...and I have 5 months or so to go.
I'm so freakin sick of veggies. It's like all I can eat. All of my meal blood sugars are fine...which is good. My fasting one has been an issue. That really sucks because that's the one I can't really control. The specialist I've seen thinks it's "inevitable" that eventually I'll be put on insulin or medication. I'm hoping I can keep it down on my own.
I've wanted this baby for 5 years...I've prayed for...cried over...ached for...this pregnancy. I would do anything for a healthy baby. I hate to feel like I'm complaining about a pregnancy issue. But I'm so emotional from the hormones and would just like to eat what I want....
I've lost about 15 lbs...I'm almost 17w. I know I'm losing more weight on this diet. I see the doctor again in about 2.5 weeks. I guess we'll see how much I've lost by then and what the ob thinks. I'm a chubby girl...personally I wouldn't mind weighing less after birth than before, but all that I read says it's bad to lose weight while pregnant. If the ob is ok with it, then I am too.
I just want a milk shake and an italian hoagie...I should make a food list for my DH to bring me in the hospital.
