eating shortbread cookies and jam//animals went to the vet//saved huge cat//pressure washing house

i'm eating leftover short bread holiday cookies with welch's grape jam.  fabulous.  and feeling almost right for the first time in weeks.  still a little congested though, but more alert.  yay!  so lucky to have health.  realize that alllll the time, especially when around older friends who also have health and then you read obits of people half that age with cancer.
saved an animal by accident, 15 minutes before pts.  i stopped in for supplies and to make appointments for spay/neuter.  instead, i saw pictures of the new adoption site that won't work, so on the phone for that today to fix it.  and he says, wait, i want to show you this cat.  i said to him, you know its always Yes, so why ask.  one of the girls had said the same, just put the name on to stop the killing and we will figure out the details afterward.  he gets annoyed if you say this, so i am missing something.  this is a HUGE cat.  again.  the owner died on this one.  swooped him out of there.  we have space.  the negative on all of these though, if they are indoor/outdoor, they may bolt.  still better than lethal injection, there is a good chance of conforming and being okay.  even plain outdoor, where feeding is going on, is better than dead.  they do want to live, i'm SURE of that.  the ones that they have looking at the wall (this was one of them) i think need one on one care.  i have never come up with anything for that.  if its an owner died, i think its grieving.  hunger strike kind of grieving.  it took k a full YEAR to get one of those to eat normally.  bear did the same for two weeks and laid by the door, and then got normal.  they all come out eventually, what i think now though, is since they are working on the house is we should have the independents at the house and the frail at the houses where we are more.  we will see what happens.
brought the dogs to the vet.  one of them needs a dental cleaning.  $250 plus anesthesia.  i think this is why they dumped a seven year old pure bred dog.  they never say why.  i had an asthma attack at the vet, and remembered afterward i have asthma at this one vet anytime i am there, so its either something they use to clean or too many large dogs and dander.  i have allergies.  drank coffee and it helped with the breathing.  that works for asthma.  scary though.  he recommended an antibiotic and they gave me all the proper paperwork, estimates and copies.  e uses that vet.  would like to myself, except i can't breathe in there, so can't do it.  hope i remember that.  the dogs also liked it there at first, and i wondered if that was once their vet?

went to the omlette house finally, they have excellent coupons for steak and eggs (even though i am against steak nowadays).  br said not to go there and that it sucks and he hates that place.  he was right.  it sucked.  i hope i remember that as well.  its nothing special and its full price and the food wasn't a rave at all.  didn't like the service either.  very rushed and the place was empty.  i liked their ice water.  they give you a HUGE glass of icewater.  very smart instead of having to refill.  not a good enough reason to return though.
dropped supplies at rn's and looked at picture of byn's new grandchild.  he is 42 and a grandfather.  lol.  also discovered he just got back in touch with his son who was born when he was 19 and his girlfriend was 16, last year.  he was shocked i didn't remember this.  so i guess i have heard this before?  people have so many dramas going on its hard to keep track.  they gave custody to the grandparents when the son was 3 (but had been there since infancy) and two years later the grandparents died, so custody went to the mother and her sister.  he didn't speak to him until age 18 when he contacted him.  and then again at 22.  why the gap, but i didn't ask.
k brought the dogs to his house and left ax to work on the house outside with access to the inside.  not a good idea AT ALL.  especially with neighbors watching.  they are pressure cleaning at the minute.  he calls to tell me and says, there is no reason not to trust ax.  i almost fell over.  i said WHAT, he just robbed you two times in a row.  he owes you $1200 and keeps asking for money, he was busted for car theft and drugs and you say what?  something is seriously wrong its like he wipes it out until the next bad incident and then he will call freaking out.  i dread all of it and i wish he never used the boys to work on the house at all, its nothing but a disaster.  grrrr.  he loves the dogs though and says they are enjoying his yard.  they definitely need that.  he also says they named the girl siamese lexi, hope i remember that.
its night and 52 degrees outside.

I knew you\'d rescue that cat!! I\'m glad too!! We keep Willow inside. She\'s a Mau and can run at 39 MPH. If she cuts loose, we\'ll never catch her. You know anything about Egyptian Mau\'s?? Bet you do! Marvelous, wonderful, loving, very smart and affectionate cat!!

Hope your asthma remains under control!! It just shows how dedicated you are to these animals to risk your own health to keep them healthy!! You\'re a good girl, 38!! Bless ya! xo

yeah, the asthma is a new thing, just the passed few years. verrrrry scary. i read its also a sign of poisoning, either poison in food (pesticides from monsanto?) or an allergy that is a poison to your body. i was shocked and there are so many poisoners and poison out there, seriously.

the strangest one i did was one that was given the first lethal shot and at the time i didn\'t know what that meant, i thought it was first shot like first 4 in 1 shot for distemper or something. the first shot is to calm them and then second shot kills them. they aren\'t careful with dosage since its to kill anyway. the cat slept a LOT in the beginning and then was okay. a lot of people asking, how its doing and phone calls and i couldn\'t figure that out. i didn\'t know what they do down there back then, i still don\'t know much about what they do. i\'m afraid to know.

I have asthma too and it is triggered by allergies. I just don\'t know what all they are.
How nice of you to rescue that cat. How\'s he doing? I hope he adjusts well. Bless his heart. And yours too!!!!

It\'s good of you to continue working with animals even with allergies and asthma. I\'m glad there are people like you in the world that can do this type of thing! *HUGS*

(i\'m writing this in April plumptomato) the big cat, survived severe mange and is huge and friendly now. he was on .3 of ivermectin for five weeks, but left his quarantine after 4 weeks (as in, he got out. lol. he was almost normal by then anyway). we discovered he LOVES DOGS and was sleeping with our little dogs alllll the time. he slowly started getting along with the other animals. he\'s on his own, but very friendly and i hope it all works out for him. he is also the heaviest and largest cat we have right now, weighing 14 pounds. also verrrrry handsome!
