Easter weekend
Even though we always were at church, Easter's not a time of intense spirituality for me... I just didn't FEEL it. For us it was mostly another big family holiday like Thanksgiving. The ham, the chocolate, etc. Getting together with cousins, grandparents, singing at church.
Still I have to reflect on the many messages we get from the story. One that I started to write about in a message last week has kind of stuck with me, and been the source of reflection recently. It's about how important it is for us to tell our stories... the story of the baby, the child, the young person, the gifts he or she brought to the world, all the things we'll never forget. His name. His voice. I can understand now how important it is for each of us to know that our child will never be forgotten -- that his name is said with love. Who does this remind me of? Yup.
Happy Easter.

Hello Sarah, have a peaceful Easter and as we remember what Easter is truly about just know that your precious son will always be remembered by all that love him. Much love to you and Andy, Linda
The stories and narratives are the vibrant and living threads that keep our hearts knit tightly together. I now understand why my late mom always spoke of my late brother, Rick, just to hear his name was a song in her heart and I find myself doing just the same now... May our children\'s names be heard all across the world and into the heavens each and every day. Loving thoughts beamed to you, Sarah. Here\'s to Andy, Douglas and so many more... XO Joanie
Easter is love. The kind of sacrificial love that Christ gave when he died on the cross for us, and for Andy, and all others. And that spills over into love for our family members, those gone before and those still here, and then love for all humankind. It is a day of quiet celebration and peace. I wish all those things for you, Sarah, and yours.

So well said......Hugs to all, Connie
Happy Easter to you! I\'ve always loved Easter. As a kid, I was adament (sp?) about celebrating Easter! My dad would rather be camping next to a stream, trout fishing (Easter is the beginning of trout season) and I insisted in that little girl way that we go to church! So my mom would hang my Easter outfit in the tent, the Easter bonnet as well. AND she and I would go to church!
I won\'t miss Easter this either! I\'m running later, but I\'ll get there.
Easter is special : )
Have a wonderful day, Sarah.

I remember feeling a joy well up inside me as a child waiting for Easter. I remember the family meal, the egg hunt, the church service (that I went to alone, as usual). I remember wanting to recreate that for my own kids...but would take them to church, not merely wait on them to get back. Family time....my mom, my brother, my kids....love. That is Easter to me, LOVE. Today, my Easter of 2011 I am here on my computer, attempting to share LOVE with each of you. I will walk beside my lake and most likely into the woods for prayer time. I will smile at the new baby geese, laugh at Monday and Maui, and feel the pride and love well inside me as I talk to my husband. Family....love....this is what Easter means to me.
Nothing could be more obvious as to my great fear of Kala being forgotten as the name I chose for DS....RememberKala. My plead, my cry, my biggest fear and greatest need. Please, please world, Remember Kala.
Thank you Sarah for this lovely journal.
Happy Easter!
What you are saying about names being spoken are important. It made me think, my other son plans to try to have a son of his own. He has 3 daughters now. They\'re not planning to have another for awhile, but now I\'m hoping that if they do have a son they name him after Jason. That would be so fitting. I won\'t even mention it though, but I would so love it.
Well, it\'s funny, I was really thinking about Jesus, and that\'s not something I often do. But to tell the story of a baby, a child, a man, and to celebrate how he changed the world... as I was doing with my own son... I kind of had a moment. Dots were connected, if you know what I mean.

...how precious the story of each person and the name...how important to say it, think it, bless it......love and peace to you....
Sarah....I was thinking about Jesus, too, as I read your journal......He will never be forgotten and He lived and died so our children and we are not forgotten, either...that life is forever because of our acceptance of His sacrifice. I don\'t believe Easter has much meaning without Jesus. I am glad to also have connected the dots. Love you...dale, brandon\'s mom
