Easter Sunday
Hi everyone, It has been a beautiful sunny day in North Carolina. Perfect weather for sunrise service. For the first time in a long time we missed the sunrise service. I have been so tired and just overslept. Steve woke up at 8:15 so we did get to worship service at 9:30. I am the one who usually wakes him up! LOL
I went to the doctor on Tuesday and he really thinks my hair issue is stress related but wanted to do a complete blood workup. My test results will be back this week to know for sure. I took a 4 hour nap this afternoon. Does that mean I will not sleep tonight?Nah, I could go back to bed right now.
Since Steve completed his radiation he has been tired and weak. He is sick on his stomach and has to take a pill to help with that. Other than that he is doing ok.
I thought of you all today and wondered how you were doing. So, so many of you have had a loved one to lose their fight with this disease. My heart hurts for each of you. I try to stay up-beat with Steve but it is very hard. He does not complain, or say why me. He just knows that God will take care of him. He also knows that if I were the one sick he would feel like I do. We have had it rough these past years, constantly knowing that the cancer could take over his life and mine completely. He has always said, way before the cancer came into our lives, that he wished the Lord would come back and takes us all to heaven. Then we would not have to be apart. We don't always get what we want in this world.
Please remember Gloria as she is having a very difficult time with Tom. He is so very sick. Piper's husband Bryan, and Meriel and David, Ingrid and Ray. All who are fighting the good fight with this monster called cancer. So many others, many of them so young! God help us all.
I pray that everyone had a good Easter weekend. I know some of you are different religions and don't celebrate the risen Saviour. I love each of my DS friends and will continue to pray that each day is a day to cherish.
Hugs to all,
Wanda

My sweet friend Wanda,
I think of you and Steve often and only pray for the strength you two have. You are such a blessing to all of us even in your time of need. Many Many prayers and blessing on this wonderful day!
Hugs from Texas, Annette
Dear Wanda, You and Steve have been giving so many people here hope through your courage and perseverance. I know this road has been difficult for you. I will pray that a time of peace and improved health will come for Steve and for your weary bones dear Wanda. This Easter, I made Japanese food for the family as a way to include M\'s memory in our gathering. Every holiday is difficult. I wish he could have seen the grandchildren hunt for their Easter baskets. He would have been following them around the house with his video camera. All any of us can do is get through each day the best we can. You are doing a great job. Please take care of yourself. Love, Linda
My Dearest Wanda,
It sounds like, even though you missed the sunrise service, that y\'all had a very blessed Easter. I\'m so glad.
Honey, I had the same problem with extreme fatigue and hair loss in 2008. Those were my first symptoms, but I did not see a doctor. I assumed it was stress. The next symptoms were memory problems and sleeping almost around the clock. I then began to have numbness in my feet, which progressed over a few days to total paralysis. When I saw the doctor, he immediately put me in the hospital, where I remained for 15 days. They ran every test known to man. After 9 days, a wonderful neurologist was called in. He had seen two women present with the same symptoms I had (while in Houston ER), and found that I had a severe vitamin B12 deficiency. This is not something normally checked, as it\'s an expensive blood test. He started me on B-12 injections weekly and oral B-12 daily. When I came home from the hospital, I could only walk with a walker and drug one of my legs. The home health nurses and PT were wonderful, and within three months I was back to normal. PLEASE request that your doctor check this, as it\'s very rare. Should you have this, I don\'t want you to get to the point I was.
I so appreciate you mentioning Ray and myself in your journal. You are a dear, dear friend.
I love you,
Ingrid
Dearest Wanda,
Were it not for the DS site and wonderful people like you, how would any of us \'wives\' make it through the most troubling times? Do check yourself out thoroughly - as I have said so many times to myself and others, if I get sick we are done for. Same goes for you! Hey, I will give you some of my hair if you give me one of your naps. Fair trade?
Anyway, I should talk. I have canceled two of my own gastroenterologist visits due to conflicts with Tom\'s situation. But just can\'t do it all.
Take care. Thanks for every good thought and prayer.

Dear Wanda - this is such a beautiful entry, and I know you and Steve had a blessed Easter. You are wonderful to mention us all, and I gain great strength from your love and caring. This is a hard old road, and, like Gloria says above, it\'s people like you who make it just that little bit easier for us. Sending you much love, and hoping that your health issues are resolved quickly. So important that you stay well. Big hugs to you, and sweet dreams from Yorkshire.
much love, Meriel x x x

I am glad you had a good Easter and were able to get in a good nap. Sometimes I think Sunday afternoon naps are the best. take care of yourself, stress can be very damaging on the body. Hope Steve and you have a great week with good test results. Tricia
,
Thank you to all my dear friends. Ingrid I will ask the doctor about the B-12 shots. I should hear from the blood work soon.
