Easing through the day

I had a Instacart order this morning...I have grown to love the quiet drives just delivering groceries.  Upon arrival at the customer's house, her children answered the door.  As I was leaving tears came to my eyes.  I am having a hard time not associating this day with the people I have lost and have moved on. I am batteling a bad cold but, being the oppurtunist I am, thought it good to take the order.

I had plans to meet up with a friend who recommended this bar nearby who was serving Thanksgiving dinner.  This friend is indeed an alcoholic.  He drinks alot.  I have begged him to stop drinking and clean his life up. But as I have seen myself nearly go down that same path, I thought it best to not go.  There are plenty of places to go without there beind a bar.  I must self guard from places like that even if it pisses a friend off.  I wasn;t feeling physically up to it anyway as I cant smell or taste anything.  I did call in an order to Cracker Barrel and went and picked dinner up for Roomie and I.  I encouraged him to go spend the day with his friend and told him that my issues with the holidays should not interfere with him spending time with his friends or family-I wanted to make that abundantly clear.  One holiday down, and 2 more to go. Staying busy during this time has been a blessing.  But, for today, with this cold, I am just going to rest.

God Bless everyone and all on this site!

Hope you feel better. The holidays are difficult for many of us. Hugs and prayers. God bless.
