Earth Day = Buzy Day!

Today was crazy buzy here on the farm!  I woke up this morning as the clock stuck 5 a.m. (we have a grandpa clock which is great for keeping track of time without looking).  I laid there until it stuck 5:30 a.m. (dings every 15 min.), figured I was not going back to sleep, and I really wanted coffee... Got up before the sun rose to drink a whole pot of coffee myself again (making a new habit of that).  I was coffee'ed, cleaned up, and dressed before the Schnauzers were even out of bed.  PaPoo had crawled under the blankies with Mom early this morning which usually renders her dead to the world (she loves to be nice and warm under any kind of blankies!).  Yesterday, I had repotted my tomatoes, and some are hanging in there for me.  They needed more water than they were getting, but because they are heritage plants, I know that they can take the abuse.  After checking my daily horoscope from Belief Net, I saw that we were still under a Scorpio Moon (even though past Full Moon) which is a great sign for planting.  So, what the heck, I'll probably end up with about 70 tomato plants, but I started some more.  I should have just enough time for them, and I'm going to talk to Guy about selling them to his restaurant friend up north or maybe my local grocery that does buy from farmers in the area.  Although I'm not certified organic, I know they take that growing method into account, so who knows?  I do know that Arkansas Travelers are the most beautiful perfect tomato that anyone would ever want to grow--they're just plan pretty, no cracks, no blemishes--PERFECT!  So I started 6 more of them.  I also started more of the others I've mentioned before, but just 3 of each: Royal Chico paste, White Currents, Black Prince (Siberian early).  Send positive energy to my new plantings please!  The peppers are mostly doing well, so I'm letting them be what they are (only had a couple that didn't germinate).  Also, my eggplants and Wonderberries are very happy.  I think I'm going to get the onions I started from seed out to the salad garden this week...  So, other than seedlings, I planted some snow peas today and will plant carrots later this week.  At least, I don't have to worry about plants in the garden at this point.  It's really too early here to plant plants out there.  I did move my houseplants to the back deck so I'll have room for my chickies!  Well, besides planting, I scrubbed the floor, scrubbed the bathroom, and generally straightened out the house.  I admit, I'm tired and although I was feeling accomplished, I'm not just tired...  My Mom's call never helps, and a friend called right after and she rarely helps my energy either.  I wish there was a nice way to say, "I love you, but you're sapping my energy!"  One more thing I forgot, I picked two ticks from Sparky--he's always the first to get the little deer ticks.  Actually, the one was crawling up my arm after I was trimming his hairy mooshka, but it came from him... Ugh... They are on Front Line Plus, but I guess they have to bite to die.  Tomorrow is ANOTHER DAY!!! And it suppose to be a CARBON COPY of TODAY!  BEAUTIFUL!!!  PS:  Forgot one thing... I also got the hugewag knots off PaPoo's tootsies, a major accomplishment.  She HATES when someone messes with her tootsies!  Very personal...
