Early Up
Ah, the pee soaked awakening. . . GS(6) and GD1(3) fell asleep on my bed watching TV last night. Around 2 a.m., GD1 started crowding my direction. It took me a while to wake up enough to realize I had forgotten to put night pants on her before she fell asleep and she was simply gravitating to the driest spot available. Simple for her. . . I grumbled my way toward taking off wet clothes and finding towels to broaden the dry sleeping options. I wasn't far into that job before I discovered that GS had abandoned his wet spot. Sigh. . . I betcha dollars to wishes none of us forget the night pants tonight.
Yay me for keeping my cool during the rude awakening, but getting back to sleep felt like more work than it was worth. Methinks I needed the extra meditation time. GS's first week of first grade has been holding steady, but week one of protective custody foster parenting has been intense for all of us. A new social worker will be visiting this afternoon after GS gets home from school. We see what grows. Still plying therapy tools. I believe I am holding steady but psycho nag flags are waving. Saluting. . .
The turkey babies have been a bright spot at the breakfast table these past two mornings. The small pet carrier I have been using to gather them from their play yard in big barn to keep them safe in the house at night fits nicely on the end of the dining table. They have begun chirping right around the same time that we are gathering for breakfast. I'm sure the Health Department would have some violation quarrels with the 15 feather babies running around the breakfast plates, but yesterday morning was pure delight. I'm kinda hoping this morning will be as delightful. Just hoping. . . We see what grows.

your grandchildren sound like they are lucky to have a fun, caring, place to be right now.
Oh Arfie you are Just The Best...???? what might have happened to the little kiddo's under other circumstances!
I feel I've got Bragging Rights, probably the Only Thing I did right with John....he never wet his bed! His God Mother told me to get him up at night before I went to bed to let him pee, so he never over flooded his diaper, and same when he went to training pants.
Funny, how kids need to be potty trained to go into pre-school...John was Not Admitted cause he 'wasn't socialized'! I get that! still where is he supposed to get socialized? Daycare was Worried about other parents...can't really blame them! God Bless a woman from my Church who ran a daycare, she'd take John for 2hrs, 3 times a week...helped me to keep what little sanity was there to keep in my bp head!
I think you are correct. You will not forget the night pants again. They have been living in such stress, that I think the stability of being with you will allow progress for both in this area. You have tried to enroll her, so it becomes the social worker's task to find a place that will take her, or groups she can be part of. Since she is showing some progress, perhaps just waiting a bit may be the solution. The adventure continues. Hugs.
Hahaha well interesting dry night lesson indeed. Lol. I love that the turkey babies brighten breakfast. Prayers and good luck wishes still abounding

Ditto for bedwetters and night pants. The good news is that the morning recovered well. It has been a mellow day so far. Knock wood.
Arfie, GKs are so very lucky to have you. Sending Patience and Light to you.
Catching that patience and light in my Peace Net, Sage. It is muchly needed.
