Early start today, but so far it's all good and productive
Good morning journal, the time right now is 6:02am,I have been awake since 5:20am when Caesar, our youngest dog,and still very much a puppy although he weighs over one hundred pounds, woke me in his usual inimitable style to let me know he needed to go outside. His own unique style of getting your attention involves him laying on his intended target, and believe me,when a dog weighing as much as he does lays on you,it gets your attention pretty quickly!. Anyway, after I successfully disentangled myself from his very loving embrace,at the fourth attempt!,I let him out back to do what he needed to do and,as the time was pretty close to getting up time today,I decided not to go back to bed and have a much needed coffee while I tried to massage some feeling back into my trampled body.Yesterday was a good day,Carol Jolly from the complex mental health team came by and helped me fill out the claim pack for disability payments,on Friday,we will complete the rest of the paperwork after my first appointment with what will be my own dedicated mental health team, and we finally know what care plan they put in place for me,after adding the details of that to my application, she will send it off for me.She is also referring me to social services so that they can help me with things such as a shower seat, bath rails and anything else around our home which will make life a little easier for me.This morning I have to be at my doctors office at 8:30am to get measured for my wheelchair, hence the early start,I do not have my own transport so I will have to take the bus,it is a tiring exercise but necessary,so the bus it is,I will have to leave shortly so this will be a somewhat short journal entry. The wheelchair they finally give me will make life so much easier for me,I will be able to get around much better on trips outside our home,at home,I can shuffle my way around, but it is a nightmare being outside, sometimes I stagger as if I've been drinking,I wouldn't mind, but if I'm going to be accused of something I would at least like to have actually committed the misdemeanor I'm being accused of!. Tomorrow,I have to see doctor Butler and find out why they need more blood tests when I had blood work done less than a month ago,as far as I can gather through telephone conversations,it is something to do with my hemoglobin,my red blood cells are too high or something, that could be because of my COPD/Emphysema and it could be something to do with my oxygen levels,oh well, just yet another test and one more needle in my arm.Friday will bring another tiring week to a close when I meet my mental health team for the first time and I am looking forward to resting up over the weekend after that,we can only wait for whatever results and decisions come up in the near future, hopefully the tests will just be for additional information and not for anything nasty they discover, and whatever decisions about my disability claim are made, let us pray that they are in our favor.Well, time to go for now,I will keep you posted on developments as and when they happen journal, until next time then, may God continue to walk with us.
