EARLY LEARNING CENTRE AND KINDERGARTEN Pakenham Reviews

Individual and collaborative play helps children to develop cognitive skills through learning how to problem solve, think creatively, and concentrate. Play also supports literacy and numeracy development, by learning new concepts such as counting, measuring, vocabulary and identifying letters and words. For information about scheduled closures - for example, during holiday periods - please contact the early childhood education and care service directly. We focus on getting children school ready through educational, social and emotional learning.

Understanding children’s emotions requires patience and nurturing behaviour, which I wholeheartedly believe in. Educating children and respecting their environment is an essential part of their growth.

I bring many years of experience across a range of leadership roles within early learning. Since joining Great Beginnings Pakenham, I have worked as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. Each role has given me the opportunity to develop new skills, explore different areas of the sector, and deepen my passion for ensuring children receive the best possible start to their education journey.

For children with additional needs or behaviours of concern, we collaborate with inclusion support professionals, allied health teams, and our Kindergarten Improvement Advisor. These partnerships help us apply for additional support, develop strategies, and create inclusive, nurturing environments where all children can thrive. Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
You will also receive daily photos and updates of your child’s learning and development through our family communication app. Story House Early Learning’s daily fee includes meals, nappies, wipes, sunscreen, learning programs, extracurricular activities, digital updates, and supportive care essentials. Everything is designed to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for your child’s growth. Our program builds life skills through daily routines that promote problem-solving, communication, independence, and teamwork. With a strong focus on mental and physical wellbeing, children engage in mindfulness, healthy eating, and active play.

Please keep your child home for at least 24 hours if they show any of these symptoms. Children learn about nature through our veggie garden, mud kitchen, worm farm, and greenhouse. We also educate them about environmental responsibility, discussing Clean Up Australia Day each January to highlight the importance of looking after the environment.
Families stay connected through educator conversations and updates shared in our family app, including photos, notes, routines and moments from their child’s day. Children practise routines, group learning, friendships and independence as they build the skills they will use at school.
