DYED MY HAIR//picked up animal supplies//got paperwork from the pound - its busy euthanize&cremate
dyed my hair today, yay! that always does something for me. would have liked to go to the spa and still didn't find time. i need to alter my schedule and MAKE time. went to the pound to get paperwork. as always, it took an hour, even with calls back and forth and giving the id numbers in advance. he says his voicemail is down. it records, so how is that down? in my opinion he is already burned out from that job. they get that look - when tmy had that position, she used to walk around crying all the time. its a tragic job.
i have to remember that his new hours are sunday and monday off. he did this because when he worked sunday which was considered a "half day" he would be expected to work five and a half days (which is really six days), so he said fine, my two days off will be sunday and monday then. and wala, same pay and two full days off like it should be. wow, sounds like our office. give a company an inch and they'll take a mile. we work five and a "half" days as well and it sucks. we used to work FOUR days and made MORE money!
EVERY receiving manager they get burns out in less than two years because its a job full of killing - no sane person can do that. even in war, your average soldier only sees 61 days of actualy combat. its not normal to see/or do all of that crap DAILY. wth. the answer to it, is the law has to change and our culture has to change. no more factory farming. ban eating meat. mandatory and free spay and neuter funded by the federal government. its a ONE DOLLAR tax, can't believe it hasn't gone through yet. california had the numbers and the law written for it 20 YEARS ago and its still not done. its embarrassing and PATHETIC. they also figured out the numbers for tnr IN PLACE OF killing and it COSTS THE SAME, so why kill?
got litter and food while out, so it saved a step. i'm the one that got the donation going over to them of the open bags, they should offer us a couple of bags per week for coordinating it. a commission. lol. they get a TRUCK LOAD of it from stores, weekly. before i started whining about it at the store, it was going into a compactor. the store said, they tried donating to private rescue and then caught the rescue people damaging bags to get the brands they wanted. obnoxious. the vandals don't realize that stores have CAMERAS? wtf? hopefully, a pound has a big enough merry go round of people that no one will do something idiotic like that.
i need animax for rn, but i don't remember why she needed it and i forgot to ask m for it.
being down there freaks me out, its super busy. lots of multitasking and new people alllll the time. i end up repeating myself a lot, both because of my own nervousness (you can FEEL the death, it feels like a concentration camp), or things get forgotten and you have to remind them. they call the room where they murder animals "the rainbow room" and they talk about that as well. scary as all hell!
there were notices in the mail today about p's house. i asked a realtor and she says, there is no pattern, nothing is filed. its a conference and then a trial between her estate and the bank. i have no idea what to think of any of this. i know one person who went through two of these and i know if a house sits empty, they are ALWAYS vandalized. i asked the man that delivered the other notice and he said it was far away from anything happening. the bank listed isn't even the bank that should be on there. wth? i'll have to read it again.
rn's babysitting job is over. she says the baby is two and needs real day care. i think he's too young, but its none of my business. she doesn't want to babysit a different kid, even though those home daycare things do extremely well. i think she wants to just retire. good luck, if you can. hln tried that and instead switched to psychiatric nursing, which she claims is easier then regular nursing. her "retirement" lasted about two weeks. lol. i suggested rn and her friend open a food co-op, since there isn't one around here and she likes to work near her house (like walking distance! lol.)
i put bruiser on albon, and then forgot to buy extra, i can get it through the catalog anyway. the other rescue animal has uti (pink urine) and amoxicillin and a cranberry extract is used for that, so that is tonight.
we are having BEAUTIFUL weather. hope byn shows up to finish the work here.

Glad you are having good weather down there. It\'s warming up in Jersey! I\'ll take it!!
So sorry about the job. There\'s no way I would ever be able to put a poor creature down. It would just be so depressing. I\'m sure the burn out rate is very high. It\'s the same thing in hospitals. The respiratory therapists burn out quickly because they always have to do CPR on all emergent cases, and so many don\'t make it. It\'s awful to feel that you didn\'t do well enough to keep someone alive. I couldn\'t do it.
We don\'t have any kitty litter left here in Jersey! We used it all to help stuff under our tires when all the snow and ice were here. Kitty litter is a very big help. Of course, NOW we have a problem, right? LOL!
Have a nice, sunny Sunday, 38! xo
we were just talking about that, rw\'s son was in school for firefighter and when he interned a woman died, it totally freaked him out. now he won\'t go near any of it, he registered for air conditioning tech. good choice in florida.
yeah, its sad that they all quit, i could never work there. some of our customers buy from independent rescuers because it sickens them to go to the pound. very sad. tragic, really. can\'t believe what total killers humans are. disgusting.
Hope the hair dying turned out ok. I usually do my own too. Sometimes good sometimes.....not so much. :-)
Can\'t imagine having to put down animals day after day. I can see how they would get burned out.
Enjoy that beautiful weather!
