DS friends
Over the years I have made some good DS friends and even had the pleasure of meeting some face to face. And I look forward to meeting more.
Also over the years, DS friends come and go. Some leave because they become too busy, some just move on, others take breaks from DS to get some space, and I'm sure there are plenty more reasons for the coming and going of people.
I know I myself have had periods of long absences. So I completely understand.
I want to talk about back in 2010 and 2011 when I was frequently gone. My 4 yr relationship with my ex started out wonderful but he then became emotionally abusive, oppressive, and towards the end frequently threatened suicide to get his way. When we broke up in Feb 2010 it was a very bad ending. When he ditched me, I was in a severe flare and then my mom shattered her leg. On top of that my ex continued to come over / call me and harras me for the next 8 months while I (and mom) struggled to function and survive. And if that wasn't bad enough, my younger bro that lived with me was knee deep in a Pilipino cult. He would come home every night while my mom couldn't move and I couldn't move, tear her down, yell at her for hrs, and try to convert us.
I had to take a lot of breaks just to regroup my own thoughts and process my own feelings. My ex had broken me down. Plus I physically felt broken in addition to my mom having to recover. We had to somehow help each other pick up the pieces of our lives. Sometimes it took just listening to my own inner thoughts and feelings one day at a time instead of other people telling me what I should do. Besides, I wasn't doing much of a good job supporting others in that kind of condition.
In 2011, I finally began picking up some of the pieces. But that's when life became busy. I had to reach out to old friends and hang out with people I've known for a long time...you know going back to the days before all the chronic pain, fibromyalgia, back injury, etc. I wanted them to help me remember the old me. And it worked.
Anyways.... here I am now screening through old DS friends. Many of them have become inactive for over 1 yr so I'm taking them off my list. Hopefully when / if they come back they will look me up again.
Thank you, DS friends for being there for me when I needed you! You are a blessing!

your words have not fallen on deaf ears!!!
\"spending\" my time has allowed me to focus on what is positive and let the negative stuff dissipate....my bank account of energy runs very low..so I spend wisely! and I abhor late fees!!and it\'s always Cash Only no charging..spending freely and paying later is no longer an option.
You, too, are a blessing, friend.
Marymargeret! Long time no see! How are you?
i always enjoy you and your words. Thanks for being my friend :)
Good friends are always around - and can keep the conversation going like you just talked yesterday instead of last year or whenever.
Glad you\'re back and that things in your life have gotten so much better!
