Dry wedding
Many "firsts" for me this year, eh? Last night was my first sober wedding! Me! The original party girl! Without a bottomless glass of white wine! Imagine that...I danced until sweat ran down my face. I laughed, I talked, I hugged, I mingled, Electric slided, Chicken Danced, Hokey Pokeyed, YMCA'ed, I even tripped and stumbled a bit on the danced floor, (this time it could be attributed poor choice in footwear, rhinestone-studded kitten heel shoes...) In other words, I did everything I've always done at weddings. With one important exception: I didn't wake up this morning and think, "oh shit, WHY did I have to stand on the table and scream my request at the DJ, "MUSTANG SALLY! MUSTANG SALLY!!!" I did not make a giant, hairy ass of myself! My God, that's refreshing. I think I was actually quite CHARMING. ME! I actually talked and listened, and retained whole conversations! Aunt Judy grabbed my hand and held it for a long time, and we talked and cried and promised to pray for each other. I am astounded. I never let anyone get too close to me. I felt like I was holding my Grandmother's hand, I looked down at Aunt Judy's hand, it looks so much like my Grandmother's... She lives like my Grandmother too, like the very best parts of her, the giving, the generosity, the caring, the compassion... I'm praying for her right now. Me! Praying! I have to get out in the dirt today. Right now. I'm taking a moment to create my day, and infecting the quantum field. If in fact, the observer is watching, and there is a spiritual aspect to myself, then show me a sign that you paid attention to one of the things I created and "bring them in a way that I won't expect, so I'm as surprised at my ability to be able to experience these things. And make it so that I have no doubt that it's come from you,' and so I live my life, in a sense, all day long thinking about being a genius or thinking about being the glory and the power of God or thinking about being unconditional love. " Amen, and let's dig.
