Dry eyes/Restasis

I went for a follow-up with my eye doctor yesterday.  The steroid drops and allergy drops helped my eyes some but they are still bugging me.  After about 2.5 weeks they started feeling better and then started feeling bad again just before I went to see the doctor (which was a good thing I suppose).  My eyes were really sensitive to light a couple of days before and even though it was really raining and cloudy all the time I still couldn't stand to be outside without my dark sunglasses on.  He said that meant it involved the cornea.  That was not a surprise to me since I'm pretty sure having to tear my eyelids off my eyeballs every morning so I could see wouldn't be good for the lining of my eyes.  So he switched my eye drops and ointment I was using.  He put me on Restasis and I'm in luck that my insurance covers it.  I only had to pay $40 for 2 months and he told me to reuse the little individual use things so it will last longer. He showed me how to push the top back on and then I have to put it somewhere it will stay sterile.  I also am to use Similasan homeopathic drops for dry eyes and Puralube ointment at night.  Hopefully my eyes will start to get better pretty fast.  
You know, people tend to forget about what an amazing blessing it is to be able to see well and take that for granted. I am going to start thanking God every day for my eye sight.  I love the sight of my children and the wonderful world God has made.
