I am passionate about helping students find joy and excitement in learning to play the drums and helping to find and develop their own musical style. We start with an essential warm-up and reading exercises, syncopation and getting a grip on basic musical terms. We will also explore more efficient ways to organise your practice session. This drumming for beginners course is designed to help you develop the ability to keep solid time and practice many different styles with an authentic feel. For this reason, a weekly 60 minute drum lesson will be less effective at improving your skills than 2 x 30 minute sessions spread across the week.
The mental and physical stimulation that comes from playing the drums is greatly beneficial for developing and sharpening minds. The coordination aspects are also great for developing and reawakening motor drum lessons near me skills.
