Drs. Appt.
Well I went to my therapist yesterday, was a very emotional visit, but she got my blood work back and it turns out i am severely deficent in my B-12 and D intake,so much so i am borderline enemic, evidently my B-12 is supposed to come in around 400 yeah mine was 208 and my D is supposed to be a little over 50 I am at 26,so she is giving me liguid supplements of both and in 8 weeks she will test again, she told me this is one of the reasons I am so tired and achy all the time (here I thought it was stress),but i am writing this not just to tell about my blood work, but because as i told her, she is the first DR EVER to tell me this,I have been to numerous drs over my 45 years including my obgyn with plenty of blood tests taken. And not one of them has ever even hinted at the fact that i have a deficiency in these levels, she says most drs wont tell you ,because they wont test for it,now my therapist is a holistic therapist-and I never in my life thought i would be going to 1 of these people, because we all get pre-concieved notions that these types of drs are all about the herbs and stuff,we were born and raised ( at least i was ) with the fact that if you had a pain take an aspirin,cough- cough syrup and so on and so forth,my point is go back to the basics and believe me when i say I am so not a nature-holistic gal at all,but she is bringing me around to new ideas, that i may or may not try 1 day.......but for everyone else out there if you know you are going for bloodwork and the dr gives you the sheet to bring with you,ask him/her also to check your levels B-12 and D,as these can contribute or even cause some illnesses if they are to low, instead of running all kinds of tests tell them to ck your levels first....I guess it is true as the saying goes knowledge is power...just wanted to pass this tidbit of info along.....have a good day all.
