Drifting
Dear Journal,
All my life I have been watching people drift away from me. Friends, Family, Love Interests. They float up into the sky like balloons and swim across the clouds out of my reach. I spend all my time looking at the sky, watching the balloons fly away, wondering where they will pop, and fall the the ground, wondering if they ever will. I have looked up for so long, that now when I look at the ground, I realise that I have floated away myself.
I was too busy obsessing over everything and everyone else that I didn't notice that I had drifted off on the way. And when I look below me, at the living, all I feel is jealousy. Jealousy because they get to be secure, the don't have to be like me and all the other balloons in the sky. But sometimes I think, maybe their jealous of us too, because we get to be lost.
