Dreams to Schemes to Dreams

There arenae enough hours in a lifetime to accomplish all the dreams my over-active imagination can cook up on a single afternoon, even when I eliminate the possibilities of finding that cow who jumped over the moon. I have tested all the cows in the pasture. If she is out there, she is keeping her talent well disguised.

As the foster care arrangement flows to a feeling of sustainability, the river region schemes feel like they beginning to wash back into the dream bucket. The confluence of the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers are floating once more through the delta of the Rhine and the Tomebaba Rivers. In my dreams, rivers can be intercontinental. In my schemes, I might need 3 different airline tickets to bring those rivers together.

I'm still grieving the loss of my river schemes. Yea, yea, I know it ain't over till it's over, butttttaaaaa. . . My river pirate's den has become an accounting line item somewhere over the year and a half I have been working the farm restoration. Add in a First Grade academic calendar and the two pre-schoolers and? ? ? River research doesnae quite seem to fit the agenda. At least not for this semester. We see what next semester brings.

The grieving of my river schemes is ongoing, but the evolutions here on this dusty hilltop feel solid and inviting. The turkey babies are getting their adolescance on. Newly hatched, turkeys look and act allot like chickens, but here in their 5th week the diffs are becoming obvious. Big Bro has been too busy with school and Play Station to watch them grow. When he joined us in the turkey yard last night, he had to work pretty hard to hide his surprise over how much they have grown and how different they are from the chickens. I'm continually surprised at those diffs, as well, but I skip the work of trying to hide my surprise. Observation in progress.

turkey dinner on the river at Christmas?

Stranger things have happened, but the housing upgrade looks like it could kick past the bureaucracy any day now. If the ifs continue to come into alignment, not even *I* will be able to resist Christmas gobbles on the new porches and house. Nope, we don't get to eat any of the resident gobblers this year. They won't be big enough yet.

Is there a proper etiquette to inviting turkeys to a turkey dinner when they are not the main course?

I really love this entry Arfie. It’s ringing all the bells in my dome as I can relate on the dreams schemes.

“Intercontinental rivers” is a very juicy concept Arfie and it’s a wonderful idea that I wouldn’t mind adopting. As I was basically born next to a river, grew up on a river half of my childhood and now live next to a river, I appreciate the idea. It rings true for me.

I’ve been grieving for my dreams & schemes for nearly ten years now, trying to keep them alive so I can keep hope of some kind of future. My home is on a other continental river several thousands of miles away but still hoping the mighty Mississippi will carry me back to my city one day.

Hugs & love my friend. Keep dreaming and scheming..., I’ve got your back. ;)

The River Pirates Den remains in place. Ready when the time is right. Raising the humans and poultry has halted some things, but the time will come for your return there. Your dreams don't die, they just stay in a holding pattern unless we choose to give them up. Glad the approvals are coming through. Hugs.
