Noel Thurgate is an artist with over 25 years’ experience in teaching drawing, including nine years as Head of Drawing at the National Art School. His work draws inspiration from the figure and the landscape, and his outdoor and studio drawings explore and develop the underlying abstract qualities found in nature. Stephanie has been a visual arts lecturer for over fifteen years – primarily teaching painting and drawing. Stephanie graduated from UNSW Art and Design in 2002 with a Master of Fine Arts. Rachel Fairfax is a painter working in the mediums of drawing, painting and ceramics. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts and an Honours Degree in Drawing from the National Art School.

The Brett Whiteley Studio is managed by the Art Gallery of New South Wales and is not a commercial gallery. This can be done through accredited valuation experts and auction houses. There is a small gallery shop with postcards, posters and other merchandise for sale. There is no cafe at the Studio; however, visitors are welcome to return on the day after visiting the numerous cafes and restaurants close by.
But don’t worry if you forget or don’t own yet – we have spare paper and pencils/charcoal for you. Please do not return any goods just contact us via email () to discuss. Once a replacement has been approved, we will organise and ship the replacement goods to the address supplied on the original order or otherwise advised.
