Drained of life
I feel like life has slowly been bleeding out of me. Now I am almost empty, with no desire or hope left in me. It has not been any one thing that has broght me down, more like death by a thousand cuts. One thing after another has happened, each taking a bit of life away from me, and nothing at all happens to replenish it. There are many thhings I long to do, but I am not able to do any of them. Normally I would go to the beach this time of year, or take a trip to the mountains. That always renews me. But I can't go anywhere now because my father is in poor health and need me here. He is elderly and in a rehab center now. Pretty much all I do go to work, go to the rehab center to visit my dad, and try to keep up with my chores. There are a lot also a lot of work that I need to get done, things that are broken, chores that have piled up. So I have no time to do anything that might improve my life. I have no chance to do anything enjoyable and no opportunities to meet people. I really only have one friend here, and she is out of town on vacation now. Also two of my best friends here on DS, the ones I spoke to the most. suddenly disappeared from DS a little over a month ago. They have never returned. That has been a big lose and has take its toll too.
I am hoping that within the next few weeks my dad health will improve as he continues to recover from surgery, and I can then try to get back into life again. I am hoping that my missing friends will return. They have both disappeared from here for long periods before, only to return. But until that happens, my life continue to be empty.

I\'m with my Dad at the moment too. My thoughts are with you.
It may seem hard, but try visiting your dad every few days instead of every day. He\'ll understand, you\'ll be no good to help and support him if your completely drained.
Yes, you are right. I am now visiting him every other day, and will not feel guilty if I need to skip two days.
Ack, I feel really bad reading this! It\'s so important that you should be able to get some enjoyable time to yourself, even with how the situation stands at the moment. Is there anyone else who could help you out with your father? Because really, you may think you\'re the one failing to keep up, but people will be a lot worse off (not to mention you) if things go downhill again.
All good things come to an end. Fortunately, all bad things do too. My dad finally gets out of the hospital tomorrow. He is mostly recovered from his surgery now and does not require so much care anymore. So I can finally get back to living my life. The weather\'s nice so I want to get out and do stuff outside. Welcome back life, I\'ve missed you!
^^ :)
