Double whammy
Long time since I posted here. Daughter changed her mind is stayed in the mid-west. Things seem to be going alright that way. GS is in AAU basketball and in track, so busy running all over the place - at least I don't get bored. Can't believe he's ready to get his learner's permit - not sure I'm ready to teach another one to drive. Worried about DH - seems like he is declining mentally. Financially things are not great. FIL died recently, and here's a kick in the head. He had nothing, was in a nursing home, and now WE have to pay not only for his funeral expenses that were above and beyond his small life insurance policy, but we're also, according to a 'new State law that just took affect Jan. 1 of this year' responsible for his last month of care in the nursing home because his Social Security stopped the month he died, but he lived in the home for half the month. So, his children have to pay for his last month of care. Not only are we supporting and raising our grandson, now we also have to pay for my husband's father's care. Wow - now that's a real 'sandwich generation'.
