Double Honor

Yesterday, I pulled in to a local gas station, on my motorcycle and I saw a car with Kansas license plates on it.  The license had a purple heart on it and it said, "wounded in action. Vietnam Veteran.  I filled up my Harley and went in side and there was a man standing near the counter.  I walked up to him and asked him if he was the man driving the car with Kansas license and he replied yes.  I extended my hand to him and I said "Thank you sir, for your service to our country.  He said "Thank you."  He then said, I see you are a Patriot Guard Rider."  I said "yes I am".  He said, "Thank you for what you do for us".  I said I am honored to do so.
I paid for my gas, walked out to my Harley and as I put on my helmet, tears ran down my face.  I thanked him for what he did for us and he thanked me, for what we do for them.  What an honor!!!!!!
Whether you agree or disagree with the wars we have been engaged in and are engaged in now, our brave men and women are serving , bleeding and dying for this country we call America.  They deserve our respect and honor.  God bless them for their service, their sacrifices and the families of these brave men and women.
