Dontwanna

Tourist season is running hot and heavy on the Great Lakes Road. Good for business, bad for this haphazard tourist. Yesterday's notion of finding a place to sit and stabilize the tailspins I have been feeling from the domestic drama unfolding umpteen hundred miles to the southwest of my current location fell into another day of semi-aimless driving in search of a landing spot. The spot in which I now sit was only available for the night. I'll need to move on in a few hours. I guess I'll be crossing the I-75 bridge into Michigan's upper peninsula, like I wanted a few tear-jerking texts ago. That was then. This is now. At this very moment, I want to know what is outside my window when I go to sleep tonight and wake up Sunday morning. Dontwanna drive off into the great unknown this morning.

Sigh. . . There's what I want and then there is what I get.

Yesterday's drive turned out to be quite pleasant, once I got past the disappointment of not finding room at the inn in Pinconning County. I sit now at a cabin compound just outside Cheboygon, very near the confluence of Lakes Huron, Michigan and Superior. Sunrise over Lake Huron was quite spectacular this morning. A swim off the compound beach might be heavanly in the coming heat of afternoon, but. . . They are booked for the a family reunion this coming week. My atlas makes it look like an easy drive from here to Lake Superior. I want to make that drive eventually, but wish it didn't have to be this morning.

Letting G.O.D. lead the dance. . . Yup. The Gnarly Old Dickhead gets the acronym today.
