Donner und Blitzen
That's not two of Santa's reindeer. I mean the thunder and lightning I drove through when I came home from the rheumy's office today. The rain was coming down in buckets, so even with my windshield wipers on the fastest speed possible, I strained to see where I was going. One car temporarily lost control on the freeway (at first I thought it was the Highway Patrol doing a traffic break because I saw a black car moving diagonally across the lanes). Luckily, everyone behind it was going slowly enough so there wasn't an accident. I was sure glad to get home. By then, the worst part of the storm had passed and I could see that it had hailed while I was gone. I even heard that there was a tornado somewhere in the county. Wild weather with more to come tomorrow! After looking at the x-rays of my wrists today, the rheumy handed me a sample of Voltaren gel to try on my right wrist, my trouble spot. I asked him about the recent report about serious liver issues associated with Voltaren, but he hadn't heard anything about this. He thought the report might have been referring to the pill form of the drug, but that's not the case. I think I'll send him the article from Arthritis Today. I hope he'll check into this or at least grill the sales rep the next time he or she drops off samples.
