Don't know how to feel about things...
I'm up in the old place packing up the remnants of things to take to my mother's house and I have mixed feelings about everything. I'm terrified and elated that I have a decent place to bring the girl; I'm pleased that we have a decent neighborhood to live in and a niceish house to share, but a little upset that the "new start" is delayed for a while, because I had in mind a new apartment in a new place, but the girl is starting high school and stability is best for now, so I'll wait for the whole "new start" thing, if I have to.
And, this is my mother's house, which is still very crowded (she's a bit of a hoarder - not the call in the shovel hoarder, mind, but if you ask her for a shoe lace, she has a box full, etc., type hoarder), and if I am going to live there I'm going to have to clear out some room; however, I don't really want to go moving her stuff.
My brother, who is in charge of her estate and has power of attorney, has told me that she will not be returning to her house, and he wants me to take it over, but neither one of us is really comfortable with rearranging it yet. I guess we will just have to give it some time.
But I can't really relax, especially until things are actually settled and the move is complete and this house is shut down.
