don\'t know........

Today T got up for his counseling appointment.   A 45 minute drive away on a Sunday, no less.  Part of the reason he agrees to go, I believe, is the novelty of seeing a counselor.  In fact, he had asked me if this was the same one his brother went to.  The other part, I thought, he really wanted help.  Perhaps he does, to some extent, but we discovered he was B-S-ing the counselor.  We joined them at the end of their session and when I mentioned to the counselor that T no longer goes to AA - T told us that he indeed goes to AA - that he went on Wednesday.  I corrected him on that and then he changed it to another day.  It was obvious he wasn't telling the truth.  He was uncomfortable being caught in a lie so he decides he's going to wait outside.  Good move on his part because we had an opportunity to talk to his counselor alone.  The counselor told us that T told him that he attends AA three times a week.   Other issues were brought up - T minimizes the hole he's dug himself into - he isn't truthful, he manipulates, and a dry drunk was mentioned.  Even though I thought the same thing, I posed this question in the My Support Group - back, not too long ago, when T wasn't following any of the rules.  He has improved ten fold but I know why and right now it isn't' because he wants to.  I am trying to be patient here but we need to do something.  Again - hubby wants to wait.  I saw on-line that T spends a enormous amount of time with that drug using "friend" who is also a dealer.  He tells us he's with another friend.  I don't know how he hangs around with this guy and doesn't use.  If he is - it isn't noticeable.   All I know is that he's mentioned before that he can't to be off of probation.   And?  There is only one reason for that.  The PO is a great guy and T likes him - so ....like I said .....there is only one reason. Anyway -  after the session we dropped T off at home, changed, and went to our soccer tournament.  We played 4 games!   Won 2 - lost 2.  What a great stress releaser!  I felt energized.  What an event it was.  And very organized.  It was fun - even though my hamstrings are bothering me....it was worth it.   I am going to miss outdoor soccer.  It was the last event for the season.  Will continue indoor but .....there is nothing like outdoor.  Love it!
