Don't Ever Forget Who We ARE.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.......!
Or better yet.....
Just when you think you are doing fine....!
Ok that may be a bit dramatic, but... I really am doing well, emotionally I mean. This will be my third holiday season without my husband, I just went through my third wedding anniversary without him and did not even have a moment of sadness or anything, but...... I guess I do still have an occasional "moment".
Was working Saturday night (yes I finally got to go back to work after approximately 100 days off with a broken arm) and of course since I work overnights at Wal-Mart we had all the partiers come in in their costumes, and for a few moments, my eyes got teary with remembering. No, I am not sentimental about Halloween, do not care to celebrate it at all, but 25 years ago, it was my hubby's and my first anniversary of being a couple and we celebrated by going to a nearby hot springs and having dinner in a private Jacuzzi, and then attending the bar's costume party. I was a "bag lady" and he was a bum. It was fun as we sat near the band (which was all male, but wearing dresses) and Alan kept lifting up the hem of their skirts with a cane. so he was playing up the dirty old man aspect of being a bum. Anyway we won third prize, losing out to the Fallopian Swim Team (all dressed in white with tails and miners lights on their heads). and Little Bo Beep and His Sheep.
I had not even thought about the fact that is was 25 years ago. So long ago, but not so far away, at least in my heart!
Oh God I sure do miss my sweetheart!
