Don't Die For Love

I love this FaceBook page: About: "What I mean by "Don't die for love" is don't lose who you are (your self esteem, self worth, love of life, etc) trying to make someone love you properly. This page was originally focused on Domestic Violence. That kind of love is NOT worth dying for!"

I agree that we should attempt to preserve who we are and not allow anyone to diminish or devalue our self esteem, etc. But how do we accomplish that when it comes to our own children, our flesh and blood?

It is no different for flesh and blood. We need to set healthy boundaries and not enable their behavior by being co-dependent. Recently a friend quoted this to me...
\"A definition for Co-Dependancy: You are working harder on someone else\'s life than they are.\"
Do not allow your children to abuse you in any way. They will not respect you or value you if you do. Setting healthy boundaries is a first step in doing this. Here is a good article about this subject; http://zenana-spa.com/resources/articles/healthy_boundaries.php?src=newsletter
