Doing the Kind of Work I Want to Do
Boy, there's something validating about getting paid well for your talents, what you do well! I figured out that I wanted to work on a film/video production crew down in Miami doing music videos, to supplement the local weddings and such that I've been doing, to more handsomely pay the bills and give myself some creative variety and excitement in the work itself. Sure enough, true to form, the best laid plans...man proposes and God disposes. The one shoot got postponed (indefinitely) and the other guy is going to L.A., so he ain't gonna need any crew down in Miami for at least two months. Oh, well...at least I planted some seeds, marketed myself a bit. It gets a bit disheartening...ya know what you want to do for a living, you know you'll be good at it, you know it'll pay well, and the work just ain't there. If God has a hand in this, I don't know what the hell He's trying to teach me, except to suffer...and for what purpose? To be humble? I'M HUMBLE, I'M HUMBLE! I JUST WANT TO DIG IN AND GET TO WORK! It really doesn't make any sense. This economy blows. So...just figured I'd pen away in this journal, hoping to throw some cosmic karma out into the universe and the workplace...I WANT TO WORK! I WANT TO WORK IN A CREW, A TEAM! I LOVE THE CAMARADERIE, THE COLLABORATION! I WANT TO DO MY PART TO MAKE THE WHOLE THING RUN SMOOTHLY! PLEASE, LORD, OH, PLEASE...THROW ME A BONE HERE!!!
