Doing okay

Yesterday was my baby's second angel day.  it was a day of remembering - the good and the not so great.  I had candles burning all day.  The tears came and went - tears of sadness, longing and even some gratitude for the 37 years I had with Lisa.
I had emails, phone calls and facebook messages reminding me of the incredible loss that we all experienced.  It was comforting to know that others were remembering too.
I still can't believe she is gone.  I still hear the phone ring and have a split second when I wonder if it is Lisa - especially if the call comes when we are eating dinner.  We used to joke about Lisa calling during dinner.  When my friend's phone rings when I am visiting, I think of Lisa.  She invariably called when I was at Marie's.
My granddaughter is her legacy.  Cevyn is a beautiful, quirky, 15 year old.  I know Lisa is proud of the marvelous young woman she is becoming.
Lisa:  I love you and miss you so much it hurts.  I know you are with me and are keeping me strong.  I will continue to be the best grandmother I can be for your beloved daughter.

You have braved Lisa\'s second angel date with courage and strength. I so know what you mean when you say that you still can\'t believe she\'s gone. My most enduring early grief emotion is confusion ~ \"wait ~ what?? How can Corrie possibly be gone???\" Perhaps it is a little nudge from God reminding us that Lisa and Corrie may be gone physically but are still very much with us, joyously expressing their beautiful beings in their new home. We need only to open our hearts and our souls to hear our angels sing. I hope so!

I love your description of Cevyn as \"beautiful and quirky\" ~ in our family \"quirky\" is the biggest compliment you can get!

With much love and big angel hugs to you and precious Lisa ~ Debbie

I am so glad for you to have received the support that can be so helpful...from other moms having \"been there.\" It does sometimes take a very long time for that \"I can\'t believe they\'re gone\" feeling to leave. It\'s almost like a tether to them, still. I found that when the tether was no longer there, it was a bit more difficult, but then I found \"healing\" went faster for me, somehow, after that pain.

I kept waiting for my husband to come through the front door after work, take off his shoes; Michael to run up to him...me with Lisa in my arms to give him a kiss (or hand over Lisa lol!) When our brains are ready, they let go. Until then, just let time take its course and do everything on YOUR timing and nobody else\'s. You\'ve suffered the most horrific loss there is in this life and anybody that thinks differently is nuts and don\'t even listen to what they have to say! Do what feels right for you-with the ultimate goal of moving forward-- when YOU are able to, and not a second before! Baby steps!

Love to you and sweet Lisa, Donna p.s. both of our Lisas, are more beautiful than we could ever imagine...!
