doing interviews//treating elisabeth for mange//green room a/c is on
kind of exhausted. our latest failed the drug test. so now have to interview new people again unless the guy can prove that he has prescriptions and it matches. thought it was odd he made an appointment somewhere BEFORE going in for the test? hmmmm? he also has three kids. people are such excellent actors. can't always tell what is what.
having great weather. started putting on a/c at the house down south. don't need it there as much because of the ocean breezes (at night its more like wind). its about 90 out during the day and sunny. yay! i went green last year, so the a/c is on one room and set fairly high. the animals are so weird, they won't go in there if its on 79 only if its on 80, so i guess they like it warm too? they will sun themselves just like humans do. they do enjoy the ceiling fans though. would never have guessed that. i would think they'd enjoy a/c if they are full grown (i know its bad for kittens though, you need between 80 and 90 for them).
went to beall's and got a spa towel for this year's summer season. its very thick pale blue. wanted flowers but i couldn't find one like that. they had tommy hilfiger towels on sale but they weren't big enough (bath towels instead of bath sheets).
finally got to the dollar store for more muscle rub, it works well, but i know i need to do something. can't figure out why my neck and shoulders are so tight.
got to k's after this to make sure elisabeth got her ivermectin. he bought the right stuff, but administering it is another thing. you can't trust him. its either too much or too little. he realllly screws up big time. its amazing he is a doctor. however, i've had more than one nurse do rescue and they will screw up dosage as well and then they say, well, i'm not good at the math part. and its like, omg! you work in a hospital and you "aren't good at the math part" the boards shouldn't let them be nurses if they can't pass the math section and with a HIGH score. no wonder so many people die in hospitals. wth?
so gave elisabeth her meds. she has full blown mange. also from him, as we started her on ivermectin two months ago and he said she was "cured." (are you blind?) seriously. how could he not see it. then he says, i told you she still had something. the mange is soooooo bad, its one of the worst i've seen. so this time i'm trying to monitor - i don't always remember to do this because i always forget how bad he is at nursing skills. mr was another one, but she claims she was her husband's caregiver. he died several years ago and they weren't married that long - 2 years. it makes you wonder. though i've seen sh also do this, and she owns an assisted living. very scary. and ditto with the nurse near here who works at the hospital.
went shopping for supplies for the animals. my blood pressure is up again, so may have to go back to 50 mg of lopressor at night, which means i'll have side effects from it. what a mess. tried soaking in a tub with salts for the tight neck muscles, the soak felt great but the muscles are still painful and tight. need to get over to timeshare. found a bunch of barbie clothes for the tatoo barbie. another surprise.

Like always you are on the go. I like your going green. Many people here are not having the central ac replaced. Some use the window units depending on the room they are in and others have the portable AC. Jay has one of these and
gave it to Rich and I for our bedroom to boost the cooling temp when it is in the mid 90\'s Guess what it works great.

I was totally into ceiling fans when I lived in Florida. I never did like air conditioning blowing on my face! It dries up my nose and I get chilly quickly. I\'d rather do what I do up here. Turn on the A/C for an hour, then put it up high (77 or so) and turn on the ceiling fans. That keeps the rooms at a comfy temp for HOURS and lowers the electric bill in the summer. We always have 90 degree days here, in the summer. I\'m heat intolerant and need the temp. to be just right, or I come close to passing out.
So sorry about your muscle soreness. With my CFS my neck and shoulder muscles are also the sorest part of my body. Actually shoulder stiffness was my very first physical symptom! That was eight years ago, now I\'m used to it. If I sleep well, on a firm mattress is seems to keep the pain under control. Just something for you to think about, in case that may be making you sorer!
So sorry for this poor animal with Mange. How awful! Whoever is medicating Elizabeth needs to be a top notch, detail oriented care-giver and meds administrator. There is no excuse for dispensing incorrect dosages of meds. Either you know how to do it, or you shouldn\'t do it at all. So sorry you have to worry about trusting people to not make lethal mistakes. UGH!

actually people doing nursing things wrong happens regularly with rescue. what a wake up call that was. i had no idea, though if i think back, i didn\'t know things either ten years ago and even reading directions doesn\'t always work out because the manufacturers can be wrong. giving out the wrong dosage seems to happen ALL THE TIME and the nurses LAUGH about this. or they give out a pill and its the wrong one, but it looks like another pill. i noticed if i have too many sick animals at the same time, i get confused as well. i need to chart it better. the people who only care for one litter or one animal, i don\'t really understand their carelessness, unless its a personality trait or dumbness and then they\'d be better off just feeding colonies outdoors and bringing the sick ones to a rescuer who actually cares for them properly.
i like walking around in a bikini top and baggy shorts or just a huge t-shirt at night (owning a moomoo will be next. lol.), that kind of thing. if you keep your hair wet, its comfortable (and more natural than a/c), i can head right out to the deck and lounge around like that.
a/c makes my joints hurt. have never been into a/c, even when young, i was always wet from swimming and hated to go into a house with a/c on and freeze. yuck. having a green room is also 75% less of an electric bill than when i used central a/c; and suprisingly, most of the house is similar temperature doing it like this. i leave the green room with a/c doors open.
i don\'t know what portable a/c is? is that the one with wheels and you put the tube out the window?
i\'m stunned the animals avoid the cold room - so far they like the spare room with the ocean breezes and they like the kitchen - eventually they should want the a/c though.
I just got a portable A/C unit for my bedroom here at my mom\'s house. You\'re right, it\'s on wheels and the hose goes out the window. Very useful if you have weird windows! I need A/C to feel okay. WIthout it, I feel sick. I just don\'t deal well with heat and I never have. Now that I\'m on Savella, though, it\'s tons worse. I sweat a LOT when I\'m hot, and I get hot faster. Ugh. what about if you live where there is no humidity? like mountains or something?
i had the green a/c on this morning. i\'m AMAZED. its 79 to 80 degrees in that bedroom, the joining bath, that side of the livingroom and the hallway to the spare room. the spare room is also cool, but its always cool because of ocean breezes. the kitchen is still warm, but it was ALWAYS warm its solid windows on two sides. i get to have all the windows open a crack until it gets realllly hot in august. but its all the same as with central but costs sooooo much less, and much less noisy. i think a/c acts as a dehumidifier more than anything else and that is what everyone needs more than anything cold. don\'t see how people over 40 can handle cold, when arthritis is already setting in.
my knee is all screwy today, its june 1 and its drizzling out there.
I don\'t understand how A/C works, so I can\'t really answer your question about the low humidity areas. :( *HUGS*
