dog daze..
In a daze. Away for a few days and after nine hour bus trip home find loved farm dog who lives at the house (in town, we dont live on farm), at death's door. Rang vet first thing and took hours to come. Had wanted to discuss if could be anything else. Vet arrived with euthanasia equipment and nothing else having not rung me first......So off to get her equipment and diagnosed infection.
We had been worried as this dog born with congenital arthritis. When a pup a different vet said she probably wouldnt work ever but we could try glucosamine...We did this and for quite a few years it transformed her. Latterly she especially reacts to bad weather and my husband says can tell my state from hers....Hasnt been taking her to work, just to feel "useful" and keep company with sharemilker's dogs on farm.
So on antibiotics and extra painkillers. Has been on doggie equivalent to mine for her arthritis for past year) but bloods not looking good.
Whole things and weather fronts put me in flattened mode. Day of tears, then reprieve and stress doesnt go well with this disease. Bloods just back and possibility may be lymphoma so may still not have happy outcome although mentally beginning to adjust.
Oh dear. That's all my children not entirely well, a not entirely well husband, the dog and I - only the cat left.....

sounds like a rough week. Is the blood work and possible lymphoma about your personal blood work? I do hope that everything is ok

No - thanks Pearl - the dog!! I would be making more of a fuss if mine!!
Jeezewhen it rains it pours! And don\'t we know it! I am so sorry to hear about the canine child in your life. I know I will be devastated if anything happens to mine. I sure hope it all comes out OK. Sounds like your having a rough time right now but just keep in mind it will get better again. I\'ll be thinking of you and the doggie. And hope your whole family is feeling ok, soon.
Hugs, Jan
