Doctors and trip to Dallas
Hello Community,
Mickie and I are now in Dallas and it is hot!
On 7/19 I saw my neuro and I am still holding my own against PD. In fact in my Neuro's scoring system I was 3 points better than my last visit. So for the moment I am regressing against my progressive disease...That really sounds odd...it sounds good. She did not increase my meds and put me on a four month review instead of a three month review. She believed that my exercise program and my PT instructor contributed greatly to the improvement...Always Fight!!!
After I saw my neuro I saw a dermatologist about a lesion on my left forearm. I probably have skin cancer. A biopsy is being performed so I will not know for sure for two weeks or so. A second dermatologist was called in to examine my lesion...is this a clue or not...After a series of questions from me the Doctors finally stated that it was very possibly skin cancer. They could not be 100% sure until the biopsy report was returned to them. According to the Doctors the cancer (if it is cancer) will not require radiation or chemo. A "simple" operation will remove the cancerous cells and I will be left with a scar...In my mind this is no big deal...So I am not worried about it...Hey, I have PD why worry about a little cancerous lesion...Perspective is everything.
I am fine!!!
We left Chicago immediately after I saw the Dermatologists (I may OD on Doctor visits) for Dallas. We spent a night in Marion, IL and watched a minor league baseball game. The minor leagues are so much more fun than the majors.
Now we are in hot Dallas...I rather be rafting in Idaho.
Take care all,
Joe

Great report on the fight against PD. Always great to hear positive news, especially a little regression. I agree with you about the skin cancer; a little scar compared to PD not that great a deal.
Unfortunately for me.....will be heading home from rafting in Idaho Monday morning. Also fishing, shooting, and playing lots of Monopoly and Chess with the granddaughters too. Will miss it all.
Enjoy that time with your dad, even if it is hot. (102 in Boise today).
Dan
Hi Dan,
Thanks for the message and the encouragement. I have \"followed\" your pictures...Thank you for the pics...
Take care,
Joe
Hi Joe,
Great news about holding your own agains\'t PD - it\'s not suprising though as I think it\'s all about excercise and attitude, as you pick up the gold star in both categories you have it cracked.
Not so good about the lesion, I know you say you are not worried but you are already dealing with enough - I hope everything works out ok.
Enjoy your visit to Dallas, catch up with you soon,
Julie
Hello Julie,
It is always nice to hear from you. Dallas was really hot. We are back in Chicago now. The lesion not a big deal...I can deal with a scar or two..to add to my collection of scars.
I trust that you are doing well...I care...
Take care,
Joe
