Doctor's visit actually went well
hello friends!
Although we waited hours, my sister and I, the doctor's visit at Patient First actually went well. I weighed 5 lbs. less than the last visit. My doctor said to keep up the good work and I don't need to return for 6 months!
While we were waiting, two men around 50 years old came in. They looked Middle Eastern or Turkish. In other words, they looked like Muslims. When one of them was called for his doctor, the nurse said, "Mohammed?"
Although I am 69 and my sister is 71, they were eyeballing us. We are both overweight, but in their culture that's not a detriment. They were also checking out any other women who came in the door.
Although it's sad to have to be this way, people get nervous when Arab-looking people are around--especially if it's on an airplane! Happy to say no bombs went off at Patient First.

It is sad to be nervous about that but after everything that has been happening i can understand it. I am glad your doctors appointment went well.

Yes it is sad that people get nervous or uptight about persons that are different than themselves. There are good and bad in all races.
So, happy you had a good appt at the dr\'s. Great job with the 5 lb weight loss and not having to go back for six months. You must be very proud of yourself. :).
It\'s a shame with all that is going on today that anyone has to feel uncomfortable around anyone else. Just people looking/staring is uncomfortable.
I agree there are good and bad in all races or religious groups. But ever since 9/11 we get bombarded on an almost-daily basis regarding terrorism and it IS coming from the Muslim extremists. When we see a person of that ethnic appearance, we don\'t KNOW if it\'s a good one or a bad one!

I agree that there are good and bad in all races but most of us are a little cautious when it comes to Muslims because of all the history they carry with them..
devout muslims eye balling women...? very much like the horror stories of little girls kidnapped and forced to be brides for devout muslims. though the custom of \"best man\" at a christian wedding started in ancient times when a 2nd man was needed to kidnap a potential bride.

I think a lot of people are nervous around arabs. especially now that they have announced they have their own world bank with china and Russia. when crime is organized they say that is actually terrorism. when they have their own world bank and control alllll the money...that would be world domination wouldn\'t it?
