Doc update
So my follow-up with the doc yesterday. After seeing my trend on sleep, she is ordering a sleep study and is reducing my sleeping meds. Well, more like weaning me off it. In her words, "They're clearly not helping." Well, yeah that's true. She gave me some strict guidelines about bed time routines. Lights out and only a very low light on the Kindle while reading. Other than that short reading bit, if it isn't supposed to happen in the bed, it shouldn't. IOW, all my daily processing that hits when I lay down should be done elsewhere. Okay. I tried the lights off last night and I definitely fell into sleep sooner. Still waiting on the sleep center to call me for the appointment.
Also referring me to a neuro psych for evaluation for the confusion, lack of focus, memory loss. IOW, see if I have ADD. My son has all those tendencies too, and my husband most definitely does NOT, so he had to get it somewhere. lol That's scheduled for Friday already, so I'm feeling good.
I also have three appointments in May for a possible surgery that might happen. If so, it could have residual help for the CFS, too, but only in the very long term.
Meantime she has no recommendation about the many days I have lost all energy except to quit worrying about losing weight for now. One problem at a time she says. Well, that's sense. I am tempted to drop my current grad class, but I don't want to go there. Maybe I'll get my first B and that's okay, right? The point is to learn, not impress people with straight As. I am hoping that correcting the sleep issue is going to have a ripple effect on my health. We'll see.
