DNR

All the talk of quality of life.  Who am I to decide quality of life for another?  I know it's close.  I feel it, but I pray God takes that decision from me when that time comes.  Choose wrongly and you either send the person on before time or you set them up to be a vegetable on life support.  I know Mom wants neither of those.  Had I not taken the DNI off this time, she would be gone.  We still have her for a time, and I'm glad.  Yet, it could have gone the other way, on life support until the brain or heart finally goes.  Terrible to be in this position, and I've never thought of it before this time in my life.  I guess I always thought you listened to doctors and followed recommendations.  I find now every doctor has a different opinion, and they can't all be right when at odds.
I put myself here, and I will see this through, and I will be glad that I've had this time, but it has changed my outlook and perspective on so many things in life, in death.
