What is Langtang Valley?
Langtang Valley is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. The valley is located in the Langtang National Park, an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Langtang Valley offers various routes to explore with different lengths and difficulty levels.
A popular trekking route starts from Jomsom and goes through the villages of Solukhumbu and Phakding before reaching the valley floor at Khumjung. The route can be done in a day or two, but for an extra adventure, try hiking along the ridge to Lukla (about 10 days). The latter option involves more elevation gain and is therefore harder but more rewarding.
Trekkers should also note that weather conditions can change quickly in Langtang Valley so it’s important to check the latest updates before heading out. Prices for a day trek vary depending on duration, number of people, type of equipment used and if permits are needed (which can be arranged through your hotel).
