Our classes are held after school, making it convenient for children to attend directly after school. The trimming class is your second to be followed up as soon as possible, or within 4 weeks. This second class teaches a new set of tools and techniques to trim excess leather-hard clay to form a foot, join, shape and decorate the project. Your project will then be cured, fired and made ready for glazing. This process will take up to 14 days, you'll be emailed as soon as your project is ready.
You may try and fail a few times, but with some concentration and luck, you'll have learned the basic. The clay from failed attempts or from the those made just for practice is completely recycled at the studio and used again. The Art Centre offers classes for all levels of experience and ability. Our classes are held in light, airy studios providing a stimulating atmosphere in which to work.
I have been in touch with the activities of the institute since its inception. The amount of hard work and the extent of the creativity involved by the head Jaya Fialok is amazing. The exibition that was held this year by jaya showcasing the talent of her students reflected the amazing opportunities they are provided. I will highly recommend it to the parents who are really keen in developing and enhancing creativity amongst there kids. We teach a practical, easy to learn system that instils the fundamentals of self defence, confidence, discipline, respect and focus in your children. The classes are intense and robust, while the techniques are very dynamic.
We have training levels to suit raw beginners and intermediate levels. We use white midfire earthenware, terra cotta midfire and full-fire raku clay. Acro dance combines classical dance techniques with acrobatic elements.
