Disappointed

The day at Penn State overall was good.  Almost 4 hr drive each way.  It was a cold and dreary day, but hey, I was at Penn State!  Food was really bad.  Breakfast sandwich at Wawa, hot dog and fries, popcorn, meatloaf and mashed potatoes at the College Diner.  But, I completely broke mywalking record:  over 22,000 steps, over 8 miles in one day!  I was absolutely whooped yesterday.  Thank goodness I wore long johns under my jeans and shirt and sweatshirt.  I was disappointed that the band did not march.  You have no idea!  I was in Penn State's Marching Blue Band for 3 years and went to 2 bowl games.  You sit where you want and it is free, so we had great seats, 1st row on the "home" side on the 30 yard line.  I was dying to see the band coming marching out of the tunnel and felt cheated.  Then, at the end of the day, we went back to my car and I realized someone stole my large paw print magnet off the back of my car!  That just made me so angry.  Everyone has magnets on their cars!  Why mine?!  So now I will have to wait until September or October, next time I go up for a game, to replace it, unless I order one on line.  It is a stupid magnet, but it just really pissed me off and almost ruined my day.  I bought a couple of t shirts and also a Nittany Lion statue to go in my "Penn State" room when my basement is done.  I am actually going to buy a Penn State pool table and pool table light and pool cue when it is done!

Food yesterday was terrible.  Ate a lot of junk food.  I woke up with cramps and TOM and bloating and gained a lb and got so mad that I ate.  Totally undid all the good I did for the week!  I am very disappointed!  It is cold and rainy today which matches my mood.  I was tired yesterday.  Did not get home until 11pm on Saturday and had left at 6:30am, so did not get to Zumba yesterday.  I did watch "Blind Side" yesterday, which was a really good and inspriational movie.   It is a true story about a woman who adopts an older kid who has had a very rough life and he goes on to become an NFL football player (Michael Oher.)  At the end of the movie, Sandra Bullock's character (the mother) sees an article in the newspaper about a gangland killing in Michael's old neighborhood (turns out to be a friend of his.)  The article at the end says the kid was athletic, and Sandra Bullock says "That could have been my son."  And after watching the movie, that is exactly what I say to myself.  Thank God David got a chance to get out of that mess!  He now has opportunities to make something of himself.

House is still kind of messy with clutter and it is driving me crazy.  We have to start looking for kitchen cabinets.  Paul and his friend did work on the basement some this weekend.  So hopefully by Fall, I will have a new kitchen and a finished basement, and the most important, that Paul will have an office in the basement and I will have my bedroom back!  Sorting stuff into spare bedroom to go to Goodwill.  Paul is having a hard time letting anythiing go!

So this week's focus is getting back on track with exercise and eating and getting work caught up.
