Dis and Dat
You know it seems everyday I wake up and read or watch some news and those poor folks down south get pounded again and again by terrible storms. I complain about still getting snow and 77 people died yesterday in tornadoes, I need to just shut my piehole. That is another great thing about living so far north, we average only one tornado a year thank the Lord. Thousands lost everything they have yesterday, not even so much as a picture left, I cannot imagine how that must feel. God Bless everyone of those people.
The doc appt. went well yesterday and he is taking me in a whole new direction. Very apprehensive and to be honest pissed off when he first proposed his ideas but thankfully the older I get the more willing I am to logically think things thru and be less impulsive with my decisions. He believes since this was an antibiotic induced colitis with chronic C. Diff infections that it may actually be curable with an extended dose of Flagyl or Vancomycin. We decided on the Flagyl for now, I have taken it before and it caused extreme nausea and if that happens again then we will switch to Vancomycin. The more I thought about it the more it made sense, this is basically starting from the beginning, if this does not work then that eliminates that one from the list and we go on to phase 2. I told him if it does work then I would come into his office and give him a big ol kiss, he said he doesnt swing that way, neither do I as far as that goes but I am willing to make this one exception. His nurses thought it was pretty funny though. The great thing about this doc is that he saw I was beyond frustrated and upset and he sat and talked it out with me, he told me I have to let go of all of that negative energy and frustration and look at this as a fresh start. He is absolutely right, all of that nonsense is totally unproductive and only leads down a dead end. My mind is my most powerful tool in getting thru this and reaching the other side with a resolution. Whether or not it is what I want to hear is irrelevant, it is what I need to hear that is important and how I process it from that point. So heres to a new plan and to hope, hope is such a beautiful thing.

Sounds like the dr. sppointment went okay. He seems to have a treatment plan and that would be good news if it worked out. We all get frustrated and negative because life as we once knew it is gone. Now we are stuck with a pile of meds and a list of bathrooms. But in the great scheme of things I am more fortunate that a lot of people. So some days I have to put all my bad thoughts and sorry for me in a balloon and blow it away. Spring is coming soon even though it is only 39 degrees here this morning. I feel horrid for all those people in Alabama who have lost everything and in some cases there lives. I will take Wisconsin any day even with the snow, cause eventually it will melt but my house will still be standing. Heres to hope and life is good. Mary
This inspires me! It\'s another snowy/rainy day in Montana, but I too am thankful to be so far north. Sure, I long for sunny days and flowers blooming but we dont suffer the natural disasters up here. I worry about not having enough money or if I get let go from my job due to repeated absence...but I HAVE SO MUCH!!!! I can\'t imagine the suffering of those people who lost everything, including loved ones! About starting over with your treatment, I wish you fast healing! I have been through many up and downs, flare-ups and remissions over the almost 30 years I have had Crohn\'s. It is frustrating to return to a treatment that did not seem to work in the past, but I can attest that I have seen it work for me. I can\'t say for sure why that is..this disease seems to have a mind of its own. Best wishes, Sue :)
So glad that this new doc really listens and is willing to start from the beginning to try and make you better. Hope everything works out well!!!
Your right about the people suffering losses from the tornado, makes our suffering seem minor when compared to theirs. Keeping them all in my prayers.
I am lucky in that we don\'t get tornados or hurricanes in my area, one of the reasons why I like it here so much.
Hope you feel better soon!!!
Hugs, Jean
